Ft. Lauderdale or Bust!

Image result for hitchhikersTo all my followers! Yes, all 8 of you. Here’s my conundrum. I will shortly be becoming a Grand father not once but twice in the next several months. Thank you, thank you!! I am as you can imagine very excited. But that’s not the problem. I need to get to Ft. Lauderdale to research aspects of topics for my book. I need to interview, one or two people, research files in at least one if not more museums and archives, and yet, like many people I cannot afford to do so, especially with the grand children on the way.  But I need to get to Ft. Lauderdale sooner rather than later.  I have been trying to get part-time work, with no luck and I can’t legitimize applying to ‘Go fund me’. In my mind there are so many more worth while charities I can’t imagine my need to get to Florida would top many people’s lists. I need your help to figure out how I get there.  Please help! Thank you.

  1. Wish I could help, but I’m on a social security budget myself. I would say, a Greyhound bus would be the cheapest way. I don’t know where you’re coming from but often charter buses host a tour ride – maybe you could get a job on one of those?

    1. You know if I had the time I might just try that. But I have a full time job and only have so much time to visit using my vacation time. But thanks for the idea just the same. It’s much appreciated.

    1. No unfortunately there not. From what I understand there are cases of undocumented or inventoried paperwork to go through. The expense of digitization is also a major factor I’m sure. I’ve tried setting up a phone interview with no luck so far. Besides by the time I’m able to afford to do the research the people I’d like to interview may not be around anymore, if you get my meaning? I’m working on creating a gofundme page despite my earlier qualms.
